Wore It Wednesday: Streaks of Color

Another one of my favorite ways to bring color to a neutral look is by using a colored eyeliner. My favorite way to do this is is by applying a liquid liner to my upper lash line and winging it out slightly. Another way you can use a colored eye liner to make a neutral look pop is to apply it right beneath the lower lash line. For that i would recommend using a pencil liner. To make it last all day you can smudge it out slightly then set it with an eye shadow in the same color or a translucent powder.

Manicure Monday: Gold Silhouette

So i just couldn't resist pulling out my Konad one more time. I'm still in that new shiny toy phase and after yesterday's mess of a manicure i wanted to not only redeem myself but also my Konad. I have to say in my opinion did just that. I picked an ivy like pattern to go over the copper polish thinking it would come out looking like lace...Not really sure how got to that conclusion. Anyway, thanks to my poor aim though the stamp had picked up the entire design only 2/3 made it on my nail. Surprisingly it still looked good and made me realize that by allowing the design to be slightly off center it gave each nail a unique look. I decided not to use a top coat for this manicure. It is a little hard to tell in the picture but the black dries kind of dull and matte. Normally i would add a little shine so it could stand out but i just love the contrast between the shimmery copper and the matte black.

Shout Out Sunday: Konad Part 2

So after getting to play with my Konad for about a week i have to say i have mixed feelings about it. So far i have used it four times. The first time was just to get a feel for the process and to see what the colors looked like when applied. After that i set out to create a proper nail look. I decided to use a bright yellow base with zebra print and stars in the Princess Pink polish. A few nails came out a little off center, and the top coat i used smudged the design a bit but overall i was happy with the nail look.

Swatchapalooza Saturday: ELF Get the Look Kits

Awhile back i purchased three Get the Look Kits from ELF. The appeal of this brand is the price of the products. Single items range in price from $1-$7. Sounds to good to be true and normally it is but they do have several products that are more than worth the money you'll pay for them. Each Get the Look Kit is $7 and with that you will get three eye shadows, and eyeliner, mascara, an eye shadow brush, two sponge tip applicators and a pair of false lashes with glue. The best part of these kits are by far the eye shadows. I was skeptical at first but blown away when i swatched them. Each kit included the same set of false lashes and eye shadow brush though the eyeliner and mascara colors varied from kit to kit.

Funky Friday: Wolverine

Today's look is all about my favorite X-Man. This powerful mutant's ability to heal paired with his adamantium claws make him a force to be reckoned with. Rather than drawing inspiration from recent movies or comics i decided to go with a look inspired by his old costume.

Wore It Wednesday: Hot Pink

This week's Wore It Wednesday, like last week's, is all about color. Only difference is instead of some fun funky eyeshadow this week's look is all about lips. By keeping the look on my eyes simple i can wear a bold lip color without the all over look being over the top. While for this 50's inspired look my first thought on lips is a traditional red, for this look i decided to go with a more modern blue based pink.

Manicure Monday: Cracked Marble

In this manicure i set out to combine my recent passion for water marbling and my recently rediscovered love of crackle polishes. I haven't used crackle polish in months though when i did my Hulk look i thought China Glaze's Fault Line over Sally Hansen's Limestone would make the perfect matching manicure. With the crakle back on my nails i couldn't help but wonder how it would look with a swirling design beneath the crackle rather than a single color. Though this manicure did not turn out quite like i had pictured i do like how it turned out.
